Here at Jennifer Newman, we pride ourselves on producing well-designed, hand-crafted modern furniture.
We work with powder-coated aluminium to produce durable, flexible pieces that are as beautiful as they are practical. Each piece is manufactured by hand in the UK by our specialist team of Fabricators.
All of the products in our ready-to-order collection are available in a wide range of colours and sizes.
We can provide bespoke pieces by request, lead time approx. 4 weeks. Our specialist design service, The Studio, will work with clients to customise existing designs, using different materials, colours and sizes, or provide sketches and prototypes to produce truly unique pieces of furniture to suit their requirements.

Jennifer Newman trained in Fine Art at Chelsea, Winchester and Reading and pursued a successful career in abstract, colourist art. Her main client base consisted of people who appreciated proportion, colour balance and “rightness”, with Issey Myake, Terence Conran and Ken Shuttleworth among them.
A career in furniture design followed, when Jennifer built a minimalist studio/gallery/home (Gibbs Barn in Wiltshire) with her partner. Having designed the house with the help of architects, including Max Neal of Fosters, she then found she was unable to find the furniture she wanted. So driven by necessity, she put pen to paper.
Jennifer set about designing from two main perspectives. Firstly products must look right and pass all the tests of simplicity, proportion, colour and texture that were applied to her abstract paintings. Secondly, and just as importantly, products needed to satisfy all the functional and durability requirements when used in their designed locations, such as providing castors on heavy tables, easy-clean surfaces and neat storage for seating.
It is this design ethic that has made Jennifer Newman’s work popular with architects and designers, as well as an ever more style conscious public.
Jennifer has shown at Design UK, 100% Design, Tent and Grand Designs, where the Groove table was short-listed for its first Garden Product award.
This year Jennifer Newman will be exhibiting at Prima, from 2-4 June 2009.
